Casey & Jacob's Wedding Day at Low Meadows Estate | A Celebration Filled with Personality, Tradition & Joy

Some weddings are beautiful. Some weddings are fun. And then there are weddings like Casey and Jacob's—weddings that are so uniquely reflective of the couple that every detail feels intentional, meaningful, and completely unforgettable.

As a wedding planner, we have the privilege of witnessing so many incredible celebrations. Yet well after the last dance, we're still talking about Casey and Jacob's wedding day at Low Meadows Estate in Mt. Holly, NC.

From family traditions and inside jokes to surprise guest experiences and a very memorable rainstorm, this wedding was a perfect reflection of two people who weren't afraid to make their wedding entirely their own.

A Wednesday Wedding Done Right

One of the things that made this wedding stand out right from the beginning was the date itself.

This was our very first Wednesday wedding, and Casey and Jacob fully embraced doing things a little differently. Throughout the planning process, they approached every decision with confidence and intention, creating a day that felt authentic to them rather than following traditions simply because they're expected.

We had the joy of working with them through our Guided Planning service, checking in monthly, helping them stay on track, and providing the resources they needed to navigate the planning process with confidence.

In fact, their preparation was so thorough that Casey texted me during wedding week: "This week has been so weird. I haven't had to do hardly anything other than my tan and nails, and it's slightly unsettling 😂"

For a wedding planner, that's one of the greatest compliments imaginable.

Instead of scrambling through last-minute details, they were able to enjoy the days leading up to their wedding knowing everything was under control.

One of Our Favorite Venues - Low Meadows Estate Wedding

Their wedding took place at Low Meadows Estate in Mt. Holly, North Carolina, a venue that holds a special place in our hearts.

Not only is the property absolutely stunning, but owners Scott and Cindy are some of the kindest people we've met in this industry. Their hospitality, care for couples, and willingness to go above and beyond make every event there a joy to be part of.

The vibrant color palette of oranges and pinks accented with touches of gold warmly complemented the venue and created an atmosphere that felt energetic, inviting, and celebratory from the moment guests arrived.

The Rainstorm That Nearly Changed Everything

About an hour before the ceremony, the skies opened.

And when we say opened, we mean absolutely poured.

For a moment, it seemed like the outdoor ceremony plans might need to change. But one thing we loved about Casey and Jacob throughout the planning process was their calm, trusting attitude.

Scott immediately went to work drying chairs as our team began resetting the ceremony space and preparing for guests. Together with an incredible vendor team, we were able to get everything back in place and ready just in time.

The result?

The ceremony happened outdoors exactly as the couple had envisioned.

Sometimes the moments that feel most stressful in real time become some of the most memorable victories of the day.

A First Look With a Polish Twist

Before the ceremony, Casey and Jacob incorporated a fun Polish Vodka tradition into their first look.

Two shot glasses were prepared—one filled with water and the other with vodka. Neither knew which one they would receive until the moment arrived.

The reactions: priceless.

It was such a fun way to honor family heritage while creating a moment that was uniquely theirs.

The Most Creative Guest Experiences

If there was one theme woven throughout this wedding, it was involvement. Casey and Jacob didn't want guests to simply watch their wedding—they wanted them to be part of it.

Guests found their seats through a sunglasses seating chart, and each pair doubled as a wedding favor. Seeing everyone sporting their shades throughout cocktail hour and the reception added so much personality and fun to the celebration.

As a couple who enjoys working out together, they also opted out of a traditional guest book. Instead, guests signed a workout bench that will now serve as a lasting reminder of the people who celebrated alongside them.

Then came one of our favorite ceremony surprises.

Before guests arrived, the wedding rings were secretly hidden underneath two ceremony chairs. When it was time for the ring exchange, those guests discovered they had an important role to play.

The surprise, excitement, and laughter that followed made the moment even more meaningful.

Meet Hubert the Flamingo

Every family has inside jokes. Few, however, involve a flamingo named Hubert.

Hubert became an unexpected star of the wedding day.

Guests spotted him sitting in the ceremony audience, checking out the ice cream cart during dessert, and eventually making his way onto the dance floor.

Everywhere you looked, Hubert seemed to appear.

Watching guests discover his latest location throughout the evening became a source of constant laughter and one of those details that perfectly reflected the couple's playful spirit.

A Powerful Moment of Prayer

Among all the fun and laughter, there was also a deeply meaningful moment during the ceremony.

Casey and Jacob invited their family members and bridal party to surround them, lay hands on them, and pray over their marriage.

The moment was quiet, intentional, and powerful.

It served as a beautiful reminder that while weddings are celebrations, they're also the beginning of a lifelong commitment supported by the people who love you most.

A Dance Floor That Never Quit

The reception energy was unmatched.

One of the highlights was Jacob's dance with his mother, which was a lively polka dance that invited family and friends to join in the fun.

What began as a special mother-son moment quickly became a celebration involving generations of loved ones. From there, the dance floor never slowed down.

Guests danced, laughed, celebrated, and embraced every moment of the evening. The atmosphere was electric from start to finish.

The First Time We've Ever Cut a Wedding Dress

Even after years in the wedding industry, weddings still find ways to surprise us.

After the first dance, Casey kept stepping on a portion of her dress because the bustle wasn't holding as intended.

After trying different solutions, Casey asked us to do something we never did before. During dinner, we carefully cut the troublesome section so she could comfortably enjoy the rest of her night. Problem solved.

And honestly? That's what wedding days are all about—finding solutions so couples can stay present and focused on what matters most. But I'd be lying if I told you it didn't get my adrenaline pumping just a little bit!

A Wedding We'll Never Forget

What made Casey and Jacob's wedding so memorable wasn't any single detail.

It was the way every detail told their story.

The traditions. The humor. The faith. The creativity. The family involvement. The packed dance floor. The willingness to do things differently. Everything about the day felt authentically and unapologetically them.

As planners, we spend months getting to know our couples. Through monthly meetings, planning conversations, and countless wedding details, relationships naturally form along the way. We celebrate with them, we grieve with them, we pray for them.

By the time the wedding day arrived, Casey and Jacob felt less like clients and more like friends. And if we're being honest, we genuinely miss our regular planning conversations.

Their wedding reminded us that the most memorable celebrations aren't necessarily the most extravagant. They're the ones that reflect the couple at the center of them.

Casey and Jacob, thank you for trusting us to be part of such an incredible chapter in your story. Your wedding was filled with joy, personality, and purpose, and it's one we'll be talking about for years to come.
